Not My Moms, Lentil & Brown rice pilaf

1-cup rice 

1- cup sprouted lentil

Liquid vegetable stock

1/4 cup  Dried figs

1/4 cup sun dried tomato (no oil)

Green onions

Kosher salt 

 Fresh ground tellicherry pepper

 cumin

Garlic

Onion powder

1/4 ripe avocado 

The first step of many of my moms amazing recipes is to fry Onions .  I even joked that when she made her famous Oatmeal chocolate chip  cookies, she would fry onions cause she would use them later. Forgive me Mom, I did not do that here. Thank you mom for teaching me how to cook. Use your rice cooker to cook your rice and lentils. Follow cooker direction and substitute at least half of the water for vegetable stock .  10 minutes before rice is done dice figs , Jullian sun dried tomatoes  and green onions . 5 minutes before the end fold in these items . Season to taste. Oh I crushed and pan toasted  10 raw almonds  , reserve some green onions and garnish.
